Mature skin? The forgotten steps you need in your routine

When it comes to beauty and our daily routine, we all know the basics – cleanse daily, nourish skin with a quality serum and moisturiser and never skip SPF in the morning! But if your skin is starting to age, sticking to just the essentials simply isn’t enough. To support your skin as it matures, it’s important to up the ante with a few extra targeted steps. These often-over-looked additions will make all the difference in how your skin both looks and feels! Want to know what they are? Keep reading as we count down 7 additional steps you need in your routine and our expert approved product recommendations. 1. Eye cream The area around your eyes is the most delicate on your face, and sadly the first to show obvious signs of ageing! Unfortunately, many of us get a little lazy though when it comes to applying eye cream or simply think our moisturiser will be sufficient which is sadly not the case! Eye treatments tend to be targeted to specific eye concerns – crow’s feet, under eye bags, dark circles and more, and have the ability to penetrate deep into the skin for optimal results keeping fine lines and wrinkles at bay! Exfoliator As we age our skin's natural ability to shed dead cells declines, and without weekly exfoliation skin can become uneven, dull and lacklustre. Lip cream Just like our eyes, our lips are one of the first areas to show signs of ageing because the skin is thinner and more delicate and quickly loses volume, moisture, and elasticity, leading to thinning, fine lines, and dryness.
