Collection: Lipliner

As we age our lips start to thin and lose their colour. Lip liners will not only define, shape and add colour to your lips, they act as primers to boost the colour and longevity of your lipstick too. Simply line the lips or draw it on all over your lips before your lipstick and you can turn virtually any lipstick into a “long wear” formula. Lip liners also prevent lipstick bleeding.

FAQs

Why should I use a lip liner?

Lip liner not only helps lips look instantly fuller and defined, it also helps to ensure your lipstick doesn't bleed and has a longer-wear finish—no matter if it's a creamy formula, matte finish, classic tube, or liquid lipstick

What type of lip liner is best?

Gel lip liners are smoother and longer lasting. They are formulated to enhance the natural lip contours as it defines with precision. The ELES Gel Lipliner is formulated with a waterproof, transfer-proof, long-lasting staying power formula. The formula helps lipstick adhere to your lips better without any bleeding or featuring.

Should lip liner be lighter or darker than your lips?

Because everyone has a different lip tone, you need to choose a lip liner that's a shade darker than your natural lip colour.

What is the difference between lip liner and lip pencil?

Lip liner can also known as lip pencil. In fact, there are four main types of lip liners: pencil lip liners, twist-up lip liners, gel lip liners and crayon lip liners.

How do you apply lip liner?

Before you apply your lip liner, we recommend you prep your lips first, this will ensure lips are not dry or crepey and lip liner goes on flawlessly.

1. Lips need to be free of dry, flaky skin so it’s a good idea to gently exfoliate this area. Exfoliating also stimulates circulation in your lips which can make them look more voluminous! Just be sure to gently remove any excess exfoliator with a face cloth.

2. Next you want to make sure your lips are well nourished. After applying your moisturiser all over your face, apply a really good lip cream to your lips. More often than not it is the lines around the lips which can actually be what’s making your lips look thin and aged. Top with a good lip balm and let it seep in for a few minutes.

3. The last part of the prep involves a concealer. Take a cream or liquid concealer in a shade lighter than your natural lip colour and smooth all over the lips spreading it a little over your natural lip line. You want to blur the edges so that it’s harder to tell where your lip line is.

Now it’s time to start your lip liner application. Begin at your cupid’s bow or the centre of your upper lip, and trace your top lip first. Continue to follow the natural lip line to the outer corners. After you line your upper lip, repeat on your bottom lip, working from the centre at the lip’s fullest point, to the corners.
